General information

The Financial Stability Committee is a competent authority responsible for the macroprudential supervision in Poland. The FSC is a collegial body, where four main financial safety net institutions, i.e. Narodowy Bank Polski, the Ministry of Finance, the Financial Supervision Authority and the Bank Guarantee Fund, are represented. The Governor of NBP is the chairman of the Committee in the area of macroprudential supervision.

Macroprudential supervision includes identification, assessment and monitoring of systemic risk as well as actions undertaken in order to limit such risk by means of macroprudential instruments.

The objective of macroprudential supervision is to constrain systemic risk, in particular by strengthening the resilience of the financial system and in consequence supporting long-term and sustainable economic growth.
