Born in Łowicz on 30 May 1970.

Graduate of the Faculty of Economics at the Academy of Economics in Poznań (currently Poznań University of Economics) and the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. In 1998, he obtained a doctorate degree and in 2013 a postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in Economics.

His career is connected with the Poznań University of Economics: in the years 1998-2012, he worked in the Department of Banking, and since 2015 he has been an associate professor in the Department of Public Finance. He is the initiator and head of the postgraduate studies “Masters of financial markets”.

He specialises in issues relating to the capital market and banking. His academic interests include financial law, monetary policy, budget policy and its relationship with the capital market, and also international financial relations. He is the author of numerous scientific papers, scientific monographs and articles, including “Macroeconomic determinants of the situation on the Polish equity market in the light of international experience” (2006), “[It’s worth having a Polish currency” (2007) and “The relationship between the US fiscal and monetary situation in mature and emerging equity markets” (2011).

He is author of the report “Why Poland should not join the euro area” published on the NBP website during the term of office of the late NBP President Sławomir Skrzypek.

Member of the National Development Council under President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.

On 30 January 2016, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland appointed Dr. Eryk Łon to the Monetary Policy Council.
