Money supply in August 2024

In August 2024, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 10.7bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in the value of deposits and other claims of the household sector and the non-financial corporations sector.

Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 23 September 2024 show that at the end of August 2024 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,363.7bn, i.e. PLN 10.7bn more than at the end of July 2024.

In August 2024, the value of deposits and other claims of the household sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 4.1bn, i.e. 0.3%, to PLN 1,268.5 bn, and in the non-financial corporations sector it rose by PLN 2.8bn, i.e. 0.6%, to PLN 491.3bn.

The debt of the non-financial corporations sector increased by PLN 4.0bn, i.e. 1.0%, to PLN 415.5bn, and of the household sector – by PLN 3.7bn, i.e. 0.5%, to PLN 795.2bn. The net debt of central government entities decreased by PLN 2.9bn, i.e. 0.7%, to PLN 400.1bn.
