Money supply in August 2025

In August 2025, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 19.9bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in the deposits and other claims of households and in cash in circulation.

Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 22 September 2025 show that at the end of August 2025, the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,626.0bn, i.e. PLN 19.9bn more than at the end of July 2025.

In August 2025, the value of deposits and other claims of the household sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 7.2bn, i.e. 0.5%, to PLN 1,391.6bn, of the local government institutions by PLN 2.2bn, i.e. 2.0%, to PLN 111.8bn, and of the non-financial corporations sector – by PLN 1.6bn, i.e. 0.3%, to PLN 549.2bn. The value of cash in circulation rose by PLN 4.9bn, i.e. 1.2%, to PLN 430,5bn.

The net debt of the central government entities increased by PLN 8.6bn, i.e. 1.7%, to PLN 507.7bn, the debt of the non-financial corporations sector by PLN 5.8bn, i.e. 1.3%, to PLN 455.1bn, and of the household sector – by PLN 3.5bn, i.e. 0.4%, to PLN 817.1bn.
