Money supply in December 2024

In December 2024, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 46.3bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in the deposits and other claims of households and non-financial corporations.

Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 24 January 2025 show that at the end of December 2024 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,480.0bn, i.e. PLN 46.3bn more than at the end of November 2024.

In December 2024, the value of deposits and other claims of the sector of households included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 21.3bn, i.e. 1.6%, to PLN 1,325.9bn, and of the sector of non-financial corporations – by PLN 14.7bn, i.e. 2.9%, to PLN 523.8bn.

The debt of other financial institutions decreased by PLN 2.4bn, i.e. 1.1%, to PLN 227.9bn, the debt of non-financial institutions decreased by PLN 1.7bn, i.e. 0.4%, to PLN 420.8bn, and household debt – by PLN 1.4bn, i.e. 0.2%, to PLN 797.9bn. The net debt of central government entities increased by PLN 32.6bn, i.e. 7.6%, to PLN 458.3bn.
