Money supply in February 2025

In February 2025, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 27.6bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in deposits and other claims of households and the local government sector.

Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 24 March 2025 show that at the end of February 2025 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,496.7bn, i.e. PLN 27.6bn more than at the end of January 2025.

In February 2025, the value of deposits and other claims of the household sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 19.3bn, i.e. 1.4%, to PLN 1,349.1bn, and of the local government sector – by PLN 16.5bn, i.e. 17.8%, to PLN 109.6bn. In the non-financial corporations sector their value fell by PLN 9.1bn, i.e. 1.8%, to PLN 501.8bn.

The debt of other financial institutions increased by PLN 8.0bn, i.e. 3.6%, to PLN 232.2bn, non-financial corporate debt increased by PLN 0.7bn, i.e. 0.2%, to PLN 422.3bn, and household debt increased by PLN 0.5bn, i.e. 0.1%, to PLN 798.4bn. The net debt of the central government sector decreased by PLN 0.9bn, i.e. 0.2%, to PLN 438.1bn.
