Money supply in March 2025
In March 2025, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 18.9bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in deposits and other claims of households and the local government sector.
Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 23 April 2025 show that, at the end of March 2025, the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,515.7bn, i.e. PLN 18.9bn more than at the end of February 2025.
In March 2025, the value of household deposits and other claims of households included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 6.3bn, i.e. 0.5%, and amounted to PLN 1,355.4bn, and the value of local government deposits and other claims of local government increased by PLN 3.6bn, i.e. 3.3%, to PLN 113.2bn. The value of corporate deposits and other claims of the sector of non-financial corporations increased by PLN 2.5bn, i.e. 0.5%, to PLN 504.3bn. In the other financial institutions sector, their value fell by PLN 1.7bn, i.e. 2.2%, to PLN 75.4bn.
The debt of non-financial corporations increased by PLN 3.5bn, i.e. 0.8%, to PLN 425.8bn, household debt increased by PLN 2.2bn, i.e. 0.3%, to PLN 800.6bn, and the debt of other financial institutions decreased by PLN 11.3bn, i.e. 4.8%, to PLN 221.0bn. The net debt of central government entities increased by PLN 24.7bn, i.e. 5.6%, to PLN 462.8bn.
