Seminar: Cash management
The seminar Cash management took place on 11-13 March in the NBP Head Office in Warsaw.
The seminar was organized within the EU-funded Programme for Strengthening the Central Bank Capacities in the Western Balkans with a view to the integration to the European System of Central Banks (Phase II).
17 representatives from central banks of Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Kosovo, the Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia) participated in the event.
During the 3-day seminar participants had an opportunity to gain knowledge from the NBP experts on the cash circulation cycle in Poland, National Strategy for Cash Circulation Security, NBP’s role of the in preventing counterfeit currency notes, cash quality management and issuance of cash and management of cash stocks within the NBP.
Additionally, seminar was enriched with lectures of experts from the National Bank of Belgium, Banque de France, Lietuvos bankas and Banco de Espana, who delivered presentations concerning infrastructure adaptation and international cooperation on cash issues, prevention of counterfeits: focus on examination methodology of counterfeit and damaged euro notes and coins, statistical information analysis in counterfeiting, fight against counterfeiting collector and commemorative coins.
All participants underlined that presentations represented high level of complexity and professionalism.
