The Financial Stability Department performs tasks related to conducting analyses and research on the stability and development of the financial system.

Moreover, the tasks of the Financial Stability Department include:

  • tasks related to the activities of NBP for the development and stability of the financial system and for the elimination or reduction of systemic risk,
  • services provided to the Financial Stability Committee in the implementation of tasks specified in Article 5 of the Act on Macroprudential Supervision over the Financial System and Crisis Management,
  • coordination of work related to the participation of NBP in the European Systemic Risk Board,
  • planning and coordinating actions in the event of systemic risk materialisation,
  • systemic supervision of the payment system,
  • oversight of the payment system.
