Doctor of Economics

Born in 1977.

Doctor of Economics and holder of a post-doctoral degree in Economics. Graduate of Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). Completed a joint executive MBA programme (WEMBA) of SGH and the University of Minnesota. Internships at the World Bank and the European Central Bank.

Adjunct professor at the Chair of International Comparative Studies at SGH. Associate of the Civil Development Forum, and lecturer of the Canadian Executive Master of Business Administration Program (CEMBA), a programme carried out jointly by SGH and the University of Quebec at Montreal.

In the years 2001-2007, worked at Narodowy Bank Polski. From 2002 to 2004, headed the Division of International Comparative Studies at the NBP International Department. In 2004, appointed as an advisor to the President of the NBP. He was also a member of the editorial board of the “Bank i Kredyt” (Bank and Credit), a scientific journal issued by the NBP.

In 2007-2010, Deputy President and Director of the Analytical Department of the Civil Development Forum (FOR). Previously, cooperated with the CASE – Center for Social and Economic Research.

Author of scientific publications and papers in the field of public finances, monetary policy and economic growth. Holder of the Kronenberg Foundation award, the most prestigious award in the field of Poland’s economy.

In 2015, Mr Rzońca won the award for his publication “Kryzys banków centralnych. Skutki stopy procentowej bliskiej zera” (Central bank crisis. The effects of a close-to-zero interest rate) at the 8th Competition for the award for the outstanding scientific achievements in the area of finance, which is awarded by the Committee on Financial Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

On 13 January 2010, the Senate of the Republic of Poland appointed Mr Andrzej Rzońca as a member of the Monetary Policy Council.
