Born on 29 September 1949 in Bydgoszcz.

In 1972, graduated from the Department of Economics of the University of Gdańsk. She obtained a Ph.D. in economics in 1976, and a postdoctoral degree in the area of the theory economics in 1992. In 1998, she received the title of professor of economics, conferred to her by the President of the Polish Republic. Since 2001, full professor of the University of Gdańsk.

Ms Zielińska-Głębocka has worked as a research worker of the University of Gdańsk since she completed her studies there. She served as Head of Extramural Doctoral Studies and head of post-graduate studies at the University of Gdańsk. She participated in internship programs and research projects related to the European Union, both in Poland and abroad. Since 1998, Chair of European Integration Department and member of the Senate of the University of Gdańsk.

The scientific and research achievements of prof Anna Zielińska-Głębocka include, among others, monographs, manuals, articles in Polish and foreign scientific journals, papers and peer reviews of scientific works. She also authored expert opinions for central and regional government offices, including the Bureau of Research of the Sejm.

In addition to her research and teaching activities, she also performed public functions. She was Member of Parliament of the fifth and sixth term. Since 2002, member of the Polish State Accreditation Committee, and since 2008 – its vice president. Member of the Civil Service Council. Since 2008, Chair of the Education Council of the city of Gdańsk.

On 9 February 2010, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland appointed Ms Anna Zielińska- Głębocka as a member of the Monetary Policy Council.
