Money supply in April 2022

In April 2022, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 3.7bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in deposits and other claims of households and an increase in cash in circulation.

Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 24 May 2022 show that at the end of April 2022 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,013.2bn, i.e. PLN 3.7bn more than at the end of March 2022.

In April 2022, the value of household deposits and other claims of the household sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 8.4bn, i.e. 0.8%, to PLN 1,028.0bn, and the value of cash in circulation rose by PLN 3.6bn, i.e. 1.0%, to PLN 376.0bn. The value of deposits and other claims of the sector of non-financial corporations decreased by PLN 7.0bn, i.e. 1.7%, to PLN 408.6bn, and the value of local government deposits and other claims of the local government sector decreased by PLN 1.6bn, i.e. 1.9%, to PLN 83.5bn.

Non-financial corporate debt increased by PLN 13.8bn, i.e. 3.4%, to PLN 414.7bn, while household debt decreased by PLN 2.2bn, i.e. 0.3%, to PLN 821.4bn. The net debt of central government entities decreased by PLN 9.6bn, i.e. 2.5%, to PLN 374.1bn.
