Money supply in August 2021
In August 2021, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 8.1bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in deposits and other claims of non-financial corporations and other financial institutions.
Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 22 September 2021 show that at the end of August 2021 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 1,902.6bn, i.e. PLN 8.1bn more than at the end of July 2021.
In August 2021, the value of deposits and other claims of non-financial corporations included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 3.9bn, i.e. 1.0%, and amounted to PLN 395.4bn, the value of deposits and other claims in the sector of other financial institutions rose by PLN 2.2bn, i.e. 4.1%, to PLN 56.2bn, and in the household sector the value of deposits and other claims increased by PLN 1.1bn, i.e. 0.1%, to PLN 1,006.4bn. The stock of deposits and other claims of local government institutions decreased by PLN 0.7bn, i.e. 1.1%, to PLN 64.9bn.
Household debt increased by PLN 3.1bn, i.e. 0.4%, to PLN 813.5bn, while non-financial corporate debt grew by PLN 1.7bn, i.e. 0.5%, to PLN 370.9bn. The net debt of central government entities decreased by PLN 10.1bn, i.e. 3.1%, to PLN 314.7bn.
