Money supply in December 2020
In December 2020, the value of the M3 money supply increased by PLN 32.0bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in deposits of households.
Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 26 January 2021 show that at the end of December 2020 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 1,822.7bn i.e. PLN 32.0bn more than at the end of November 2020.
In December 2020, the value of household deposits and other claims of households included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 23.6bn, i.e. 2.52%, and amounted to PLN 977.1bn, and of local government deposits and other claims of local government fell by PLN 0.7bn, i.e. 1.2%, to PLN 54.3bn. The value of corporate deposits and other claims of corporates fell by PLN 2.2bn, i.e. 0.6%, to PLN 376.4bn, and the stock of deposits and other claims of other financial institutions decreased by PLN 2.9bn, i.e. 5.4%, to PLN 50.8bn.
Household debt increased by PLN 3.0bn, i.e. 0.4%, to PLN 789.1bn, while corporate debt decreased by PLN 9.3bn, i.e. 2.5%, to PLN 367.1bn. The net debt of central government entities increased by PLN 45.0bn, i.e. 12.3%, to PLN 411.6bn.
