Money supply in December 2022
In December 2022, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 9.3 bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in deposits and other claims of households.
Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 24 January 2023 show that at the end of December 2022 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,091.3bn, i.e. PLN 9.3 more than at the end of November 2022.
In December 2022, the value of deposits and other claims of the household sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 18.8bn, i.e. 1.8%, to PLN 1,079.0bn, and of the sector of non-financial corporations – by PLN 4.4bn, i.e. 1.0%, to PLN 463.3bn. The value of deposits and other claims of the local government sector decreased by PLN 12.0bn, i.e. 15.2%, to PLN 67.1bn.
Non-financial corporate debt dropped by PLN 8.2bn, i.e. 1.9%, to PLN 416.3bn, while household debt fell by PLN 7.1bn, i.e. 0.9%, to PLN 794.3bn. The net debt of central government entities rose by PLN 25.7bn, i.e. 7.9%, to PLN 351.6bn.
