Money supply in February 2024

In February 2024, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 30.8bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in deposits and other claims of the household sector.

Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 22 March 2024 show that at the end of February 2024, the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,288.1bn, i.e. it was by PLN 30.8bn higher than at the end of January 2024.

In February 2024, the value of deposits and other claims of the household sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 15.2bn, i.e. 1.3%, and amounted to PLN 1,233.5bn. In the case of the local government sector, it grew by PLN 12.1bn, i.e. 18.4%, to PLN 77.7bn.

Household debt increased by PLN 1.3bn, i.e. 0.2%, to PLN 781.3bn, and non-financial corporate debt increased by PLN 0.6bn, i.e. 0.2%, to PLN 403.2bn. The net debt of central government entities increased by PLN 25.0bn, i.e. 6.5%, to PLN 407.9bn.
