Money supply in June 2024
In June 2024, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 8.4bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in the value of deposits and other claims of the household sector.
Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 22 July 2024 show that at the end of June 2024 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,339.3bn, i.e. PLN 8.4bn more than at the end of May 2024.
In June 2024, the value of deposits and other claims of the household sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 10.8bn, i.e. by 0.9%, and amounted to PLN 1,259.8bn, while in the non-financial corporations sector it decreased by PLN 6.6bn, i.e. 1.3%, to PLN 480.9bn. In the sector of other financial institutions it fell by PLN 2.2bn, i.e. 3.4%, to PLN 64.1bn.
The debt of the other financial institutions sector increased by PLN 9.3bn, i.e. 4.3%, to PLN 225.4bn, that of the household sector – by PLN 4.3bn, i.e. 0.5%, to PLN 788.4bn, whereas the non-financial corporate debt rose by PLN 1.8bn, i.e. 0.4%, to PLN 411.9bn. The net debt of central government entities increased by PLN 12.1bn, i.e. 3.2%, to PLN 388.9bn.
