Money supply in March 2023
In March 2023, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 8.9bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in the value of deposits and other claims of households.
Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 25 April 2023 show that at the end of March 2023 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,140.2bn, i.e. PLN 8.9bn more than at the end of February 2023.
In March 2023, the value of deposits and other claims of the household sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 13.7bn, i.e. 1.2%, to PLN 1,116.7bn, and that of the sector of non-financial corporations decreased by PLN 6.0bn, i.e. 1.3%, to PLN 467.3bn.
The debt of other financial institutions increased by PLN 10.2bn, i.e. 5.2%, to PLN 207.7bn, and of non-financial corporations – by PLN 0.4bn, i.e. 0.1%, to PLN 426.3bn, while household debt decreased by PLN 4.6bn, i.e. 0.6%, to PLN 781.6bn. The net debt of central government entities increased by PLN 8.8bn, i.e. 2.5%, to PLN 363.4bn.
