Money supply in May 2023
In May 2023, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 10.4bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in deposits and other claims of non-financial corporations.
Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 23 June 2023 show that at the end of May 2023 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,157.9bn, i.e. PLN 10.4bn more than at the end of April 2023.
In May 2023, the value of deposits and other claims of the non-financial corporations sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 12.9bn, i.e. 2.8%, to PLN 474.7bn, while that of the household sector decreased by PLN 2.6bn, i.e. 0.2%, to PLN 1,128.9bn.
The debt of other financial institutions increased by PLN 4.0bn, i.e. 2.0%, to PLN 207.5bn, while non-financial corporate debt declined by PLN 6.3bn, i.e. 1.5%, to PLN 419.0bn. Household debt remained unchanged at PLN 780.4bn. The net debt of central government entities increased by PLN 2.0bn, i.e. 0.6%, to PLN 350.6bn.
