The tables include monthly aggregated banking sector information (banks and branches of credit institutions) based on solo financial reporting, sent to Narodowy Bank Polski.
The source of information is the Financial Information Reporting System (SIS), based on the supervisory reporting framework of financial reporting (FINREP) developed by the European Banking Authority – EBA and additional tables adapted to needs of local users of the financial data.
The information content is defined in the NBP Board of Directors Resolution 38/2023 (Annex No 6) of 4 July 2023 on special principles of preparation and transmission to Narodowy Bank Polski data necessary for monetary policy setting and for periodical assessment of banks’ financial standing and banking sector risk.
From the beginning of the year 2018 the data are presented in the new set of tables, due to financial reporting framework modification, that includes changes resulting from implementation of International Financial Reporting Standard No 9.
Financial data are published on a monthly basis, with updates due to adjustments sent by banks, published on a quarterly basis.

Banking sector financial data published for the period from March 2010 to December 2017
The information content is defined in the NBP Board of Directors Resolution 53/2011 (Annex nr 10) of 22 September 2011 as amended on special principles of preparation and transmission to Narodowy Bank Polski data necessary for monetary policy setting and for periodical assessment of banks’ financial standing and banking sector risk.
Banking Sector Loans and Advances
The table includes aggregated information on loans and advances of banks and branches of credit institutions, with a breakdown by product, entity and category of financial instruments.
Data on the total of loans and advances covers all banking sector loans and advances. Data on impaired loans includes only information on the financial and non-financial sector.
Tables: “Banking sector loans and advances, gross carrying amount (Portfolio B)” and “Impaired loans and advances of banking sector, gross carrying amount” include data starting from March 2009, and the other tables include data starting from March 2010.
Liabilities
The table includes aggregated information of liabilities of banks and branches of credit institutions, with the breakdown by products, entities and categories of financial instruments described in the FINREP reporting framework. Data are presented from March 2010.
Income Statement of the Polish Banking Sector
The table includes information on selected income statement positions of the Polish banks and branches of credit institutions, with detailed information on costs and revenues derived from selected assets/liabilities categories described in the FINREP reporting framework. Data are presented from March 2010.
Off-balance-sheet positions resulting from transactions in OTC derivatives
The table includes data on nominal values of gross positions resulting from transactions in selected OTC derivatives, broken down by types of instruments and categories of counterparties. Data are presented from January 2011.
