The Domestic Operations Department performs tasks related to the implementation of monetary policy, support services for the trading of securities issued by the Treasury, the managing of foreign loans drawn by NBP, and foreign exchange operations

The Domestic Operations Department performs tasks related to the implementation of monetary policy, support services for the trading of securities issued by the Treasury, the managing of foreign loans drawn by NBP, and foreign exchange operations.

The tasks of the Domestic Operations Department also include:

  • fixing the POLONIA reference rate,
  • calculating the exchange rate of the euro against the Polish zloty,
  • examining applications for individual foreign exchange permits and keeping a register of entrepreneurs operating bureaux de change,
  • conducting inspections to the extent defined by the Foreign Exchange Law and the Law on the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing, and conducting inspections of the trading of Treasury bills and NBP bills.
