Member of the Monetary Policy Council

Economist and lawyer, Doctor of Economics, Professor at the Warsaw School of Economics, specialist in the field of system stability problems, general equilibrium and evolutionary economics, in 2005-2006 Deputy Voivode of Opole, in 2006-2007 Deputy Minister of Treasury.

He graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) and the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw. He works at the Warsaw School of Economics, where he defended his doctoral dissertation in 2006 and obtained his post-doctoral degree (habilitation) in 2017. At the Warsaw School of Economics, he was an assistant professor and then became an associate professor of SGH and served as the head of the Monetary Economics Unit. He also lectured at the University of Insurance and Banking in Warsaw.

In the years 2002-2005, he was a councillor in the Śródmieście district of Warsaw, where he served as Deputy Chairman of the Economic Policy, Budget and Finance Commission. From December 2005 to 31 August 2006, he served as Deputy Voivode of Opole. Then, until 16 July 2007, he held the position of Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of State Treasury. In 2018-2022 he served as editor-in-chief of the scientific journal “Bank and Credit”. From 2019 to 2021 he was director of the Economic Research Department of Narodowy Bank Polski.

On 18 February 2022, the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda appointed Ireneusz Dąbrowski member of the Monetary Policy Council.
