Born in Chomranice on 7 April 1964.

Graduate of the Jagiellonian University, Faculty of Polish Philology. He completed his postgraduate studies in Accounting and Financial Management at the Higher Vocational School in Nowy Sącz.

He was a deputy to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland for the Sixth, Seventh, Eighth and Ninth Terms. During this period he was a member of the Parliamentary Public Finance Committee, in 2015-2016 its vice-chairman, and from 2021 to 2022 its chairman. In the 7th and 9th terms, he also chaired the work of the Standing Sub-committee on Financial Institutions.

Mr Janczyk has experience in local government units. In 2016–2018, he was the Deputy Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Audit Oversight Commission. Earlier, in 2007, he was a member of the Management Board of Remag SA in Katowice. He also served as President of the Management Board of ZEW Niedzica SA in Niedzica. In 1994-2005, he worked for BGŻ SA, first in the Brokerage Office and later, as Deputy Director of the branch, where he managed the department of cooperation with retail customers, VIPs and small and medium-sized enterprises.

In 2017, he was entered on the list of tax advisors. He was involved in the promotion of Polish entrepreneurship in the European Union countries, organising economic missions to Brussels, The Hague and Berlin to support trade.

On 9 February 2022, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland appointed Wiesław Janczyk member of the Monetary Policy Council.
