Money supply in April 2021

In April 2021, the M3 money supply decreased by PLN 2.5bn. The decrease was mainly driven by a decline in deposits and other claims to non-financial corporations.

Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 25 May 2021 show that at the end of April 2021 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 1,860.0bn, i.e. PLN 2.5bn less than at the end of March 2021.

In April 2021, the value of corporate deposits and other claims of corporates included in the M3 aggregate decreased by PLN 11.9bn, i.e. 3.1%, to PLN 375.5bn, and the value of local government deposits and other claims of local government decreased by PLN 0.1bn, i.e. 0.1%, to PLN 62.8bn. The stock of deposits and other claims to households increased by PLN 4.6bn, i.e. 0.5%, to PLN 1,002.5bn, while to other financial institutions it increased by PLN 0.8bn, i.e. 1.6%, to PLN 49.0bn.

Household debt rose by PLN 1.3bn, i.e. 0.2%, to PLN 793.8bn, and corporate debt increased by PLN 0.8bn, i.e. 0.2%, to PLN 370.5bn. The net debt of central government entities decreased by PLN 5.8bn, i.e. 1.6%, to PLN 360.0bn.
