Money supply in April 2023

In April 2023, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 7.3bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in the value of deposits and other claims of households.

Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 24 May 2023 show that at the end of April 2023 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,147.5bn, i.e. PLN 7.3bn more than at the end of March 2023.

In April 2023, the value of deposits and other claims of the household sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 14.8bn, i.e. 1.3%, to PLN 1,131.5bn, while that of the sector of non-financial corporations decreased by PLN 5.5bn, i.e. 1.2%, to PLN 461.8bn.

The debt of other financial institutions fell by PLN 4.2bn, i.e. 2.0%, to PLN 203.5bn, that of households – by PLN 1.0bn, i.e. 0.1%, to PLN 780.6bn, and of non-financial corporations – by PLN 0.9bn, i.e. 0.2%, to PLN 425.4bn. The net debt of central government entities decreased by PLN 14.9bn, i.e. 4.1%, to PLN 348.5bn.
