Money supply in February 2023

In February 2023, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 35.0bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in deposits and other claims of households and the sector of non-financial corporations.

Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 22 March 2023 show that at the end of February 2023 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,131.4bn, i.e. PLN 35.0bn more than at the end of January 2023.

In February 2023, the value of deposits and other claims of the household sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 17.5bn, i.e. 1.6%, to PLN 1,102.9bn, and of the sector of non-financial corporations – by PLN 12.2bn, i.e. 2.6%, to PLN 473.3bn.

Non-financial corporate debt increased by PLN 3.4bn, i.e. 0.8%, to PLN 425.9bn, while household debt decreased by PLN 2.8bn, i.e. 0.4%, to PLN 786.2bn. The net debt of the central government sector decreased by PLN 2.9bn, i.e. 0.8%, to PLN 354.6bn.
