Money Supply in July 2022

In July 2022, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 13.8bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in deposits and other claims of other financial institutions and non-financial corporations.

Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 23 August 2022 show that at the end of July 2022, the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,012.7bn, i.e. PLN 13.8bn more than at the end of June 2022.

In July 2022, the value of deposits and other claims of the other financial corporations sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 7.2bn, i.e. 11.4%, to PLN 70.3bn, of the non-financial corporations sector by PLN 7.0bn, or 1.7%, to PLN 421.5bn, and of the household sector by PLN 1.9bn, i.e. 0.2%, to PLN 1,022.9bn. The value of deposits and other claims of the local government sector declined by PLN 2.4bn, i.e. 2.9%, to PLN 77.9bn.

Non-financial corporate debt increased by PLN 6.3bn, or 1.5%, to PLN 420.7bn, while household debt decreased by PLN 0.3bn, to PLN 817.5bn. The net debt of central government entities decreased by PLN 21.6bn, i.e. 6.7%, to PLN 301.4bn.
