Money supply in June 2023
In June 2023, the M3 money supply decreased by PLN 0.6bn. The decrease was mainly driven by a rise in deposits and other claims of households with a simultaneous drop in deposits and other claims of non-financial corporations and the local government sector.
Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 24 July 2023 show that at the end of June 2023 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,157.3bn, i.e. PLN 0.6bn less than at the end of May 2023.
In June 2023, the value of deposits and other claims of the household sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 8.2bn, i.e. 0.7%, to PLN 1,137.1bn, that of the non-financial corporations sector decreased by PLN 4.5bn, i.e. 0.9%, to PLN 470.2 bn, while the value of deposits and other claims of the local government institutions declined by PLN 4.1bn, i.e. 5.8%, to PLN 66.1bn.
The debt of other financial institutions increased by PLN 7.4 bn, i.e. 3.6%, to PLN 214.9bn. Household debt declined by PLN 3.2bn, i.e. 0.4%, to PLN 777.3bn, whereas non-financial corporate debt by PLN 3.1bn, i.e. 0.7%, to PLN 416.0bn. The net debt of central government entities decreased by PLN 6.8bn, i.e. 1.9%, to PLN 343.8bn.
