Money supply in June 2022
In June 2022, the M3 money supply decreased by PLN 16.3bn. The decrease was mainly driven by a decline in deposits and other claims of non-financial corporations and local government institutions, and a drop in cash in circulation.
Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 22 July 2022 show that at the end of June 2022 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 1,998.8bn, i.e. PLN 16.3bn less than at the end of May 2022.
In June 2022, the value of corporate deposits and other claims of the sector of non-financial corporations included in the M3 aggregate decreased by PLN 6.7bn, i.e. 1.6%, to PLN 414.5bn, and the value of local government deposits and other claims of the sector of local government institutions decreased by PLN 4.2bn, i.e. 5.0%, to PLN 80.3bn. The value of cash in circulation fell by PLN 6.0bn, i.e. 1.6%, to PLN 363.8bn. The stock of deposits and other claims of the household sector increased by PLN 0.7bn, i.e. 0.1%, to PLN 1,021.0bn.
Household debt increased by PLN 0.9bn, i.e. 0.1%, to PLN 817.8bn, while non-financial corporate debt grew by PLN 0.3bn, i.e. 0.1%, to PLN 414.5bn. The net debt of the central government sector decreased by PLN 29.5bn, i.e. 8.4%, to PLN 323.0bn.
