Money supply in March 2021

In March 2021, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 25.9bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in deposits and other claims to non-financial corporations and households.

Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 23 April 2021 show that at the end of March 2021 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 1,862.5bn, i.e. PLN 25.9bn more than at the end of February 2021.

In March 2021, the value of corporate deposits and other claims of corporates included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 13.3bn, i.e. 3.6%, and amounted to PLN 387.4bn, and the value of household deposits and other claims of the household sector increased by 8.2bn, i.e. 0.8%, to PLN 997.9bn. The stock of deposits and other claims of the local government sector increased by PLN 2.4bn, i.e. 4.0%, to PLN 62.9bn, and the stock of deposits and other claims of other financial institutions decreased by PLN 3.9bn, i.e. 7.4%, to PLN 48.2bn

Household debt increased by PLN 5.5bn, i.e. 0.7%, to PLN 792.5bn, while corporate debt decreased by PLN 1.4bn, i.e. 0.4%, to PLN 369.7bn. The net debt of central government entities increased by PLN 4.4bn, i.e. 1.2%, to PLN 365.8bn.
