Money supply in May 2022
In May 2022, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 1.9bn. The increase was mainly driven by a rise in deposits and other claims of non-financial corporations.
Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 23 June 2022 show that at the end of May 2022 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,015.1bn, i.e. PLN 1.9bn more than at the end of April 2022.
In May 2022, the value of deposits and other claims of the sector of non-financial corporations included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 12.5bn, i.e. 3.1%, to PLN 421.1bn. The value of deposits and other claims of the households sector decreased by PLN 7.7bn, i.e. 0.7%, and amounted to PLN 1,020.3bn, and the value of cash in circulation – by PLN 6.1bn, i.e. 1.6%, to PLN 369.8bn.
Household debt declined by PLN 4.5bn, i.e. 0.5%, to PLN 816.9bn, while non-financial corporate debt – by PLN 0.5bn, i.e. 0.1%, to PLN 414.2bn. The net debt of central government entities decreased by PLN 21.6bn, i.e. 5.8%, to PLN 352.5bn.
