Money supply in September 2023

In September 2023, the M3 money supply increased by PLN 40.9bn. This was mainly due to a rise in deposits and other claims of households and the sector of non-financial corporations.

Data released by Narodowy Bank Polski on 23 October 2023 show that at the end of September 2023 the M3 aggregate amounted to PLN 2,233.9bn, i.e. PLN 40.9bn more than at the end of August 2023.

In September 2023, the value of deposits and other claims of the household sector included in the M3 aggregate increased by PLN 22.4bn, i.e. 1.9%, to PLN 1,174.0bn, and of the sector of non-financial corporations – by PLN 13.8bn, i.e. 2.8%, to PLN 498.2bn.

The debt of other financial institutions increased by PLN 9.8bn, i.e. 4.6%, to PLN 221.4bn, that of households – by PLN 5.4bn, i.e. 0.7%, to PLN 785.1bn, and of non-financial corporations – by PLN 2.0bn, i.e. 0.5%, to PLN 411.2bn. The net debt of central government entities increased by PLN 28.1bn, i.e. 7.9%, to PLN 383.9bn.
