Member of the Monetary Policy Council
Economist and manager. Graduate of SGH Warsaw School of Economics – Collegium of Socio-Economics and the National School of Public Administration. She also completed Investment Advisor–Securities Analyst studies at the Kozminski University.
In 2021-2022 she was President of PKO Bank Polski, earlier President of the Management Board of Alior Bank. From 2018 Advisor to the Governor of Narodowy Bank Polski and a member of the Supervisory Board of Bank Ochrony Środowiska. In 2006-2008 Iwona Duda was Deputy Chair of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, earlier Plenipotentiary of the Prime Minister (2006) for the organization of the Office of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. She also held the post of Deputy Chair of the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervision Commission and director of the Financial Market Development Department in the Ministry of Finance. In 2010-2011, she worked as an advisor in the Strategic Management Department of Narodowy Bank Polski.
From 1998 to 2005 she was director of a department in the Pension Fund Supervision Office, and next in the Office of the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Commission. In the 1990s Iwona Duda worked in the Ministry of Finance in the Public Debt Department as well as in the Office of the Committee for European Integration as deputy director of the Department of Foreign Aid, Community Funds and Programmes.
She has held numerous positions in financial market institutions, such as Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, Member of the Supervisory Board of the National Depository for Securities, Deputy Member of the Payment System Council at Narodowy Bank Polski, and Member of the Supervisory Board of PTE PZU S.A., as well as Chair of the Supervisory Board of Alior TFI S.A. and Alior Leasing sp. z o.o.
In 2021-2022 she was a member of the Council of the Polish Bank Association, Large Banks Section.
In 2018 Iwona Duda was awarded an honorary decoration “In recognition of merits to the banking sector of the Republic of Poland”.
In 2021 she was chosen Bank Manager of the Year 2020 in the commercial banks category and in 2022 she won the Manager Award 2022 in recognition of her professional achievements. In the same year she was awarded the ShEO Awards 2022 statuette in the Business Leader category.
In 2022 she was appointed Honorary Ambassador of SGH Warsaw School of Economics.
On 6 October 2022, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland appointed Iwona Duda member of the Monetary Policy Council.
